This product is a Trading Standards-approved half pint (to rim) plastic glass. It is made from recycled plastic and is very easy to recycle again. It is clear and shatterproof - making it perfect for outdoor events. 

Every type of plastic can be recycled in theory but most types of plastic have such a low value as raw material that in practice there is no economic justification for doing so. This is the reason local authorities accept fizzy drinks bottles for recycling but not yogurt pots - but they don't often tell people that this is the reason why.

The simple solution is to manufacture plastic cups from the same plastic as fizzy drinks bottles. That type of plastic is called PET (type 1) and plastic cups made from PET are clear, strong and will not crack or shatter. Quite simply, they are the best quality disposable plastic cups money can buy. So why aren't all plastic cups made from PET? Well, in price sensitive applications, people usually opt for the cheapest cups available.

But for premium quality drinks, like smoothies and some beers, they make an excellent choice. From an environmentally friendly perspective, biodegradable plastic glasses are an alternative.
