Thermoformed plastic glasses begin life as big long sheets of plastic which is warmed up before moulds are pressed into the soft plastic.

They are an excellent mid range choice of plastic glass because they offer high clarity at relatively low prices. They can often be found on airliners or on the tables of TV studios.

In addition, they can be inexpensively printed to offer a branded solution to product promotion.

Thermoformed Polypropylene Tumblers:

Low prices; slightly opaque; will flex rather than crack.

Thermoformed Crystal Polystyrene Tumblers (this page):

Mid range, high clarity; may crack under pressue but will not shatter.

Injection Moulded Polystyrene:

High quality; high clarity; may crack and shatter.
